The FT-IR Introductory Kit is designed to rapidly familiarize a user with infrared analysis by illustrating sampling techniques using the provided samples. The kit is designed to teach a user different sampling techniques such as:
Transmission measurements
Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR)
Diffuse Reflectance (DRIFT)
Preparation of a cast thin film
Along with familiarization of sampling techniques, an overview of Spectrum 10 software is included, covering basic operation, quality checks, and spectral processing using Search and Compare features.
The samples and experiments included in the kit demonstrate:
Determination of a good quality sample spectrum
The importance of selecting the correct sampling accessory
The effect of increasing the number of accumulations on the signal-to-noise ratio
The importance of selecting the appropriate resolution to match the sample type
